Societee member Joel Shapiro heads to Charleston next week for his daughter’s wedding. He’s decided to stay the following week and open the doors to one of his favorite new memberships, Old Sawmill Golf Club.
Dates are May 6th - May 7th.
Old Sawmill
Just outside Charleston, about 30 miles to the northwest, Old Sawmill sits across 465 acres of rolling farmland and open, panoramic ground. Designed by Tyler Rae, the course reflects a timeless approach to architecture—strategic, restrained, and shaped by the land itself.
The experience is anchored by an 18-hole championship course, complemented by The Lumberyard, a distinctive 9-hole par-3 routing that invites both competition and creativity.
Lodging on site is still being developed. Joel suggests staying at The Cooper, but there are also other fine hotels in the surrounding Charleston area.Old Sawmill
